Sometimes the range of one tower can hit both death zones so it can be a great tower, plus it is anti air. The swamp thing has such insane range a couple of them can cover most of the map using spots away from the meat grinders. The other two towers are just useful support that I typically spend money on later once my meat grinders are established. Upgrading the harassers is always a good idea on any lane. Focus on the gem for a lane with big enemies and the zeppelin for hordes of small enemies.

Observe what type of enemies are typically coming down each lane and upgrade accordingly. The blazing gem is the anchor and the flexibility of the zeppelin allows me to really focus the death zone near it and bunch up enemies. I position those 3 towers to form a meat grinder of death on each exit lane. I move them from lane to lane in a pinch and it can save you. If you can find a spot with access to 2 lanes that is ideal.
